- At H-D since December 1999, domestically, works primarily on North American vehicle compliance with safety-related regulations, member SAE Motorcycle Committee. Internationally, serves on several bodies related to motorcycle safety research and testing. International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association, represents the United States Motorcycle Manufacturers Association on the subcommittee for safety. ISO: Serves on working group 22, which is responsible for developing testing to determine the efficacy of vehicle mounted safety equipment.

Tim Nelson
MRF State Rep for Iowa
- Tim Nelson is one of the MRF State Representative liaisons to the MRF Board of Directors and is the MRF State Rep for Iowa. He is a seven year member of ABATE of Iowa, and is the ABATE of Iowa MRF Officer as well as a legislative committee member. He also holds the position of ABATE of Iowa, District 15 Public Relations Officer. He says he became involved with public relations as a means of anger management after seeing motorcycle rights organizations being vilified in the press. He is also a proud member of ABATE of Illinois, ABATE of Wisconsin, ABATE of Minnesota, and the American Motorcyclist Association. In the past he has presented media workshops at Iowa STEAM, Heartland STEAM, and Best of the West.
Ken Ray
Executive Director of BikePAC of
Oregon and a MRF board member
- Ken Ray is the Executive Director of BikePAC of Oregon and a MRF board member. Ken has been involved in the motorcycle rights movement since 1989. He is an active political volunteer as well and has twice been a delegate to the Oregon Republican Party platform building convention. Ken wrote the plank for helmet law reform that is now part of the ORP platform. He has been riding street bikes for 18 years.
Vicki Roberts-Sanfelipo
Program Director/Lead Instructor/ASMI Board Member
- Vicki is a Registered Nurse at Waukesha Memorial in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She has worked for 19 years in a variety of settings throughout the hospital from Critical Care to the Operating Room. She is currently the Perioperative Educator for Waukesha Memorial Hospital and has completed National Registry Certification as an EMT as well as having completed a course in Two Wheel Trauma for Medical Personnel. Vicki teaches CPR & Defibrillators for the American Heart Association. She has been riding her own motorcycle for the past 16 years and has completed the MSF’s Experienced Rider Course. She is a life member of ABATE of WI., Charter Member Central WI HOG & member KMC HOG, MRF, BOLT, & AMA.
Tony Pan Sanfelipo
Lead Instructor
- Tony brings his unique experience and flavor to our classes. He is nationally known as a speaker for motorcycle rights and advocacy. He has been active in the right movement for 29 years and has been riding motorcycles for 36 years. In addition to being the founder of ABATE of WI and BOLT (Bikers Of Lesser Tolerance) he belongs to many other biker's rights groups such as USFF, HLDL, and ABATE of WI. Tony has completed a course called "Two Wheel Trauma" that was given for medical personnel and went on to become nationally registered as an EMT. He is the Head Road Guard for former Governor Thompson’s (now U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services) Harley Tours. Tony works for Michael F. Hupy and Associates, S.C. in Milwaukee and has 10 years of investigative field work as a motorcycle case specialist.
Imre Szauter
Legislative Affairs Specialist AMA
- Imre Szauter is a legislative affairs specialist for on-road activities in the government relations department of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). He has been on staff since September, 2001.
- Prior to joining the staff of the AMA, Imre spent over 18 years with a large telecommunications firm as a computer systems specialist. He earned a B.S.E.E. in 1983 and an M.S.E.E. in 1991 from the Ohio State University College of Engineering, Electrical Engineering Department.
- Imre is an MSF-certified motorcycle safety instructor and has taught basic and experienced rider courses with the Motorcycle Ohio rider education program since 1994. He has been riding motorcycles since 1970.
Carol Simpson
Members Representative MRF / Board Memeber
- Carol Simpson currently serves the Motorcycle Riders Foundation Board of Directors as Members Representative.Over a span of nearly twenty years she has served as Freedom Rally Coordinator and Legislative Director for CMT/ABATE in Tennessee, Grassroots Coordinator in the MRF's Washington DC office, and Legislative Team member in her current state of residence, Maryland. Helping the CMT/ABATE organization and its members in their efforts during the 1994 campaign to elect Fred Thompson to the United STates Senate and thereby defeating our old foe Jim Cooper is her most cherished success. She rides a 1973 Superglide, and has devoted much of her adult life raising three children-Bill, 33; Chris, 27; and Carrie, 20. Three grandchildren-Allen, Chloe, and Izabella, and daughter-in-law Jessica complete the family circle. Other interests include work as a construction industry estimator, flower gardens, playing dominoes, and road trips to anywhere new and interesting.
Patricia A. Turner
Research Associate Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), University of South Florida
Manager of Transportation Safety Research Program
- VMs. Turner is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida and Manager of the Transportation Safety Research Program. She has over ten years experience in transportation research and has conducted numerous safety studies related to bicycle and pedestrian issues, motorcycle safety, alcohol, fatal crashes, and crash data analyses.
- Previous motorcycle research include observational motorcycle helmet use surveys, motorcycle alcohol crash analysis, and motorcycle safety strategic plan development. Her current research involves conducting a observational motorcycle helmet use survey and examining motorcycle trends in Florida following the 2000 change in Florida’s helmet law.
- Prior to joining CUTR, Ms. Turner was an Assistant Research Scientist at Texas Transportation Institute. She earned a MPA, in Public Budgeting and Finance, from the University of South Florida and a BS, in Business Administration, from the University of Maryland.
